By Inland Empire • Apr 15th, 2008 • Category: NewsMembers of the public are invited to attend the Rancho Mirage City Council Meeting on Thursday, April 17, 2008, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at the Rancho Mirage City Council Chamber, 69-825 Highway 111, in Rancho Mirage.
Business will include the certification of the Official Election results for the April 8th General Municipal Election, installation into office of Councilmembers-elect Gordon Moller and Richard W. Kite, and selection of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Rancho Mirage. This year Ron Meepos is due to serve as Mayor and Gordon Moller is due to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.
The City of Rancho Mirage was the first city in Riverside County to conduct its own General Municipal Election. Overall voter turnout was approximately 30% with two incumbents winning the two available City Council seats: Gordon Moller with 2,302 votes and Richard W. Kite with 2,240 votes. Robert Hamilton was also a contender and garnered 509 votes.
