The Salinas Police Department, in partnership with Sun Street Center’s P.A.R.T.S. and S.T.E.P.S. programs, (Preventing Alcohol Related Trauma in Salinas and Safe Teens Empowerment Project in Salinas) will be conducting a DUI and Drivers License Checkpoint during the evening hours of Thursday October 30, 2008, at an undisclosed location in the city of Salinas. The checkpoint is purposely conducted during the Halloween celebration period in an attempt to reduce the amount of drinking and driving associated with Halloween celebrations.

The DUI and Drivers License Checkpoint is also aimed at educating the public about the dangers of drinking and driving and driving without a license. If you have any questions, you may contact Sergeant Terry Gerhardstein of the Salinas Police Department at (831) 758-7224.
