Rubidoux – Negligent Discharge of a Firearm

On Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at approximately 2300 hours, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station arrived in the 3200 block of Laurel Drive, in Rubidoux regarding a disturbance. When the deputies arrived they heard gunshots, and saw a male running from the location, jumping over walls and into another home on Mary Ellen Drive.

Deputies set up a perimeter and the occupants of the residence exited the location. Further investigation revealed one subject inside the residence had been discharging firearms into the air. Deputies recovered an AK-47 assault rifle and a .45 caliber handgun. Deputies also located packaged marijuana at the residence. Deputies arrested Gilbert Valasco, 21 of Rubidoux for possession of an assault rifle, unlawful possession of a weapon, and unlawful discharge of a firearm. Deputies also arrested Amyot Dunbar, 25 of Rubidoux for possession for sale of marijuana.
