By Inland Empire • Jul 14th, 2009 • Category: NewsThroughout the months of June and July, the Highland Police department has investigated numerous residential burglaries of vacant homes. On Monday, July 13, 2009, deputies received a call from an off duty deputy from Victorville. The deputy observed a white male adult entering a vacant residence in the 7400 block of San Benito Ave. The suspect was observed loading numerous appliances and merchandise into a truck in the driveway. The deputy called sheriff’s dispatch and reported the crime. The suspect drove out of the area at a high rate of speed.
Deputy Beyerle of the Highland Station responded to the area and found the vehicle traveling westbound on Greenspot Rd. at a high rate of speed. The vehice was stopped and the driver was identified as Thomas Burrows. The stolen property was found in the bed of Burrows truck.
Deputies from the Highland Station responded to the scene and completed an investigation. Over
$1, 000.00 in stolen property was recovered and Burrows was booked at the West Valley Detention Center.
