On Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at approximately 10:55pm, deputies from the Adelanto Sheriff’s Station responded to a 911 call in the 11700 block of White Ave. in Adelanto. According to the caller, they could hear loud noises coming from their neighbor’s residence and were concerned for their safety.
When deputies arrived, they found that a home invasion robbery had occurred at the victim’s residence. According to the victim, three black male adults knocked on the door and asked to buy drugs. When they victim told them that they did not sell drugs, the suspects’ brandished handguns and entered the apartment. The suspects’ became startled when a friend came to the residence and knocked on the door. All three suspects fled out a back window, taking with them two cell phones belonging to the victim.
Suspect #1 is described as a black male adult in his late teens or early 20’s, 5’10″ and 170lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, blue jeans and an unknown colored shirt.
Suspect #2 is described as a black male adult in his late teens or early 20’s, 5’, and 150lbs. He was wearing all black clothing with a bandana around his face. He was carrying a black handgun.
Suspect #3 is described as a black male adult in his late teens or early 20’s, 5’8″, and 150lbs. He was last seen wearing all dark clothing, dark sunglasses and a white ski-mask. He was carrying a black handgun.
**UPDATE AS OF 09/18/2009**
On 09/18/2009, an arrest was made on the home invasion robbery.
As part of the initial investigation, Deputy Robert Theiss lifted fingerprints at the residence he felt might belong to the suspects’. The prints lifted came back to Alphonso Martin, DOB 11/2/1990, of Adelanto. Detective Debois obtained a search warrant for Martin’s residence. At approximately 10:32am, deputies from the Adelanto Sheriff’s Station, with the assistance of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Crime Impact Team, served the search warrant. Martin was located inside his residence and arrested without incident.
Alphonso Martin, who is a documented gang member, was booked at the West Valley Detention Center. He is currently being held at the West Valley Detention Center without bail. The investigation is continuing into the identity of the additional two suspects.
