By Inland Empire • Nov 1st, 2009 • Category: FeaturesOn Friday, October 30, 2009, about 11:55 PM, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an assault that occurred outside the Skybox Grill & Tavern located near the 30700 block of Benton Rd., French Valley. Reports indicated a 34-year-old male patron was assaulted by two other males outside the establishment. The victim was treated at the scene for trauma to his head and mouth and was later transported to the hospital for further medical attention.
Prior to the arrival of deputies, the assailants fled the scene in an unknown make or model vehicle eastbound Benton Rd. from Winchester. Further investigation led to a residence near the 36000 block of Brietner Way, French Valley, and the subsequent arrest of one of the two suspects for the assault.
Abel Gomez, age 32 of Wildomar, was arrested and booked at the Southwest Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon. The second suspect remains at large and was described as a Hispanic male adult, mid 30’s, 270 lbs, 6′ 3″ – 6′ 4″, wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt with a white baseball cap and is known to frequent the area.
