By Inland Empire • Nov 7th, 2009 • Category: FeaturesOn Friday, November 6, 2009, about 1:03 PM, Temecula Police Officers were alerted to a bank robbery that just occurred at the Chase Bank located at the 32000 block of Temecula Parkway, in the city of Temecula. Witnesses at the bank reported the suspect, described as a lone Hispanic female adult, mid 30’s, with short brown hair, passed a teller a note and demanded money. After the teller complied with the suspect’s demands, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a red-colored minivan westbound on Temecula Parkway.
Moments later, officers searching the area observed a red minivan occupied by a female that matched the physical description traveling southbound on I-15, south of the city limits. About 1:20 PM, officers initiated a high-risk traffic stop on southbound I-15, south of Hwy 76 in San Diego County, and detained the driver without incident. Officers recovered evidence at the scene of the traffic stop that implicated the driver as the suspect in the robbery. The suspect, identified as Roxanne Pennock, age 37 of Poway, was arrested at the scene and later booked at the Southwest Detention Center.
Temecula police are currently investigating this and other robberies in the area. Anyone with further information about this incident or similar incidents is encouraged to contact Investigator Martinez at 951-696-3000.
