Yucaipa – Murder

On Friday, November 20, 2009 at approximately 5:53 p.m., Sheriff’s Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting an unknown disturbance in a mobile home within a trailer park on the 12300 block of 4th Street in Yucaipa.

Sheriff’s Deputies from the Yucaipa station responded and upon arrival located David Matteson and David Kirkpatrick inside the residence along with Matteson’s mother, who is also Kirkpatrick’s girlfriend. David Kirkpatrick was found on the floor with no pulse. Despite life saving efforts by deputies and medical personnel, Kirkpatrick was declared dead at the scene.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Homicide Detail was called to the scene to assist with the investigation. During the course of the investigation, David Matteson was arrested for the murder of David Kirkpatrick. Matteson was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga and is being held without bail.
