On December 4, 2009, at approximately 1:35pm, Deputy Joe Janowicz contacted two male subjects, identified as Darrick Jones and a 16 year-old male juvenile, at the corner of Villa Street and Dana Street in the City of Adelanto.

Jones, who is currently on felony probation, had several bullets in his pocket. As Deputy Janowicz attempted to handcuff Jones, he attempted to flee.
