On Friday February 05, 2010 at 1955 hours, officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian, with major injuries on Mission Trail near the intersection Malaga Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Toyota pick-up was traveling south on Mission trail in a light rain and collided with two juveniles as they crossed Mission Trail. One of the juveniles succumbed to her injures at the scene.

The second juvenile sustained minor injuries to both legs and did not require emergency medical aide. The driver was located at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The names of the victims, both juveniles, are being withheld.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to call the Lake Elsinore Police Department at 951 245-3300.
