Suspect sought following bank robbery

Redlands Police are investigating after a man held up the Chase Bank in downtown Redlands Friday morning.

The robber approached a teller at the bank at 4 W. Redlands Blvd. on the corner of Redlands Boulevard and Orange Street shortly before 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, told her he had a gun and demanded money. No gun was seen.

The teller handed the cash over and the man left the bank by the north exit into a parking lot. He was last seen on foot, heading west behind a nearby Sizzler restaurant.

Police, with the help of the Sheriff’s Department helicopter, conducted a search of the area but did not locate the suspect.

The robber is described as a white man, about 6 feet tall, 220 pounds, with short brown hair and a multicolored tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved maroon T-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Rob Williams at (909) 798-7659 or Redlands Police Dispatch at (909) 798-7681.
